Hello! I know it has been a long while since I posted anything, my excuse...SUMMER. And while I am full of inspiration in the summer, I rarely find myself in front of the computer in order to share it. As a way of easing myself back into sharing thoughts, ideas and inspiration, I offer this wonderful little video. This is neuromuscular patterning in action! We all did it as babies; learning how to roll, crawl and walk. As we journey through life injury, pain, trauma, repetitive strain (not to mention how much time we spend in our heads and out of the body) can can create dysfunctional movement patters. They arise as a way to cope or protect, but can get stuck. The good news is that our minds, bodies and tissues are so plastic we have the ability to unlearn movement patterns that no longer serve us by getting on the mat, slowing things down, feeling into our bodies and playing with movement. Enjoy this delightful little video and hopefully you will be inspired to get down on to your mat and play.

AuthorMy name is Valerie and I am a registered massage therapist and yoga teacher/student. We humans are a mess of contradictions, and I love exploring how yoga can help us cultivate the qualities that make us kinder, more joyful beings and still leave room to accept this human experience with grace and humour.
